Associate Scientist

Indianapolis Competitive p/h Contract

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior team members in exploring, testing, and developing novel formulations, production processes, and delivery system technologies for new and registered active ingredients.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including analytical R&D, process development, application technology, biology, regulatory, operations, and commercial teams to ensure project success.
  • Maintain meticulous laboratory documentation and report writing standards.
  • Adhere strictly to laboratory safety procedures.
  • Under the guidance of senior colleagues, design and execute experiments, analyze data, and modify hypotheses as needed.
  • Support investigations into product quality concerns and troubleshoot issues at the plant level, providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Apply scientific methods consistently to solve technical problems.
  • Evaluate and qualify new active ingredient and raw material sources, characterize materials, and support shelf-life extensions for existing products.
  • Contribute to intellectual property (IP) capture through research report writing and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biology, Microbiology or related fields, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in formulation technology or engineering.
  • Knowledge or experience working with biological actives and their development.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the capability to partner effectively with diverse team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of formulation design & development and the product registration process.
  • Experience with fermentation and recovery technology for biological actives.
  • Familiarity with High-Throughput (HTP) technology and digital tools.
  • Proficiency in computer programming and automation.
