Medical Technologist Trainee

  • Participate in a structured training program designed to provide hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge in clinical laboratory testing procedures and techniques.
  • Learn and adhere to laboratory safety protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests on patient samples including blood, urine, and tissue specimens using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Receive, accession, and prepare patient samples for analysis by labeling, centrifuging, and aliquoting specimens according to established protocols.
  • Maintain sample integrity and ensure proper handling and storage to prevent contamination or degradation.
  • Assist in quality control activities including calibration, verification, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Perform routine quality control checks, troubleshoot instrument issues, and document corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze test results, interpret findings, and accurately report laboratory findings to healthcare providers.
  • Review and verify test results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of laboratory activities, test results, and quality control data in accordance with regulatory requirements and laboratory policies.
  • Prepare reports, worksheets, and documentation for review and audit purposes.
  • Collaborate with medical technologists, laboratory supervisors, and healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of laboratory services.
  • Discuss test results, answer inquiries, and provide assistance as needed to support patient care.
  • Stay informed about advancements in laboratory technology, clinical methodologies, and regulatory standards through participation in continuing education programs, workshops, and seminars.


  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
  • Completion of an accredited medical technology training program or internship preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of clinical laboratory testing principles, techniques, and instrumentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory work and data interpretation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and follow established procedures and protocols.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in patient care.
