Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technical support to formulation development teams by preparing and analyzing formulation samples to assess key physical properties.
  • Independently prepare formulation samples using a variety of standard laboratory equipment, such as high shear mixers, bead mills, blenders, air jet mills, and other processing tools.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of formulation samples, including particle size distribution, viscosity, density, and pH, utilizing a range of laboratory instruments (e.g., laser diffraction analyzers, rheometers, density meters, pH meters).
  • Ensure the proper maintenance, calibration, and functionality of laboratory equipment, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, observations, and results in a laboratory notebook, adhering to strict documentation standards.
  • Generate and document reports on experimental outcomes and share findings with relevant stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Report on project progress and communicate any challenges or potential delays to project leads or team members without delay.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment, ensuring that laboratory practices align with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical documentation and provide updates on the status of product-related changes or updates.
  • Support internal stakeholders with clear communication on the status of documentation and any actions needed.
  • Participate in training programs related to laboratory equipment and data management systems as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related field
  • Previous formulation experience is not required, but familiarity with technical roles in academic or industrial settings is beneficial.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, reporting, and communication.
  • A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to provide analysis and make informed recommendations in support of ongoing projects.
