Microbiologist Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory research to identify and study microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for microbiological testing and analysis.
• Perform microbiological assays, including culture, isolation, and identification of microorganisms.
• Analyze and interpret data from microbiological tests and experiments, preparing detailed reports and documentation.
• Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in microbiology and related fields, incorporating new techniques and technologies into laboratory practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including biosafety protocols and laboratory standards.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior laboratory staff and interns.
• Participate in the preparation and submission of research publications and grant proposals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in microbiological techniques, including aseptic techniques, culturing, and molecular biology methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present scientific reports.
• Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to microbiology (e.g., FDA, ISO, EPA).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
