Scaling A New CDMO Facility - INCOG BioPharma

The Client - INCOG BioPharma

INCOG is one of the nation’s leading CDMOs servicing biopharmaceutical partner’s clinical and commercial requirements. Its services include injectable drug product formulation development, analytical method development, process scale up, and formulation & filling of vials, syringes and cartridges. In addition, INCOG offer customized packaging services to include labeling, device assembly, final packaging and integrated storage solutions at various temperature conditions.

The Brief - Where Culture and Qualifications Meet

INCOG opened a new facility in Fishers, just 5 minutes from the Harba Solutions office, and since passing FDA approvals, saw an influx of new clients and demand to start new projects. In turn, a significant hiring initiative needed to take place.

After hearing from Harba and understanding Harba’s specialist approach to CDMO recruitment and its unwavering focus on the STEM skill sets, working together was an easy decision to make.

The brief commanded qualified candidates who shared INCOG’s values and were excited by INCOG’s vision for the new Fishers facility.

Harba would be kept accountable with specific KPIs set for each role. INCOG would set a minimum of 3 submittals within ten days for each opening. All candidates must be ready to interview, have relevancy, and possess qualifications for the role. This would ensure a consistent level of quality across submittals.

The Solution - Setting Up For Success

In Q4 2022, Harba were engaged by INCOG to source talent for positions that they were finding difficulty in filling. A traditional contingent model was adopted where 10 positions were filled for high level technical STEM roles.

In Q2 2024, with INCOG’s aim to continue its expansion, continuing with a traditional contingent model would not be cost-effective. Yet, with the quality of hires made through Harba, leadership teams from Harba and INCOG came together to discuss a scalable model to source quality candidates at a more economical rate. Harba introduced a customized hybrid RPO model, where the whole Harba team represent INCOG and work on filling positions on an exclusive basis. Both parties would receive commitment, longevity and a price point that would work favorably.

Sourcing candidates is powered by the Harba Assay, a process that was put in place to ensure successful talent consulting and recruitment programs. The Harba Assay aligns a prospective candidate with specific opportunities, ensuring the open vacancy meets the professional’s career ambitions.

Harba leveraged it’s immediate network, a nationwide pool of 30,000+ scientific professionals, sub-divided by location, expertise, year’s experience, and seniority.

Where more complex searches were needed, the Harba team utilized its best-in-class tech stack to map the market and head hunt relevant passive candidates who are not visible to the market.

Harba also leveraged its wider community of professionals, who are regularly engaged through surveys, polls, email newsletters, and social media activity. Harba’s marketing department was pivotal here, producing email campaigns and local job adverts and consulting on employer branding and social media activity specific to INCOG’s hiring activity.
